Abstract

Describes a pilot low cost current awareness service, developed at the Science and Engineering Library, Minnesota Univ., for providing weekly literature search updates to faculty. The Current Awareness Service (CAS) employs micrcomputer databases, a high speed compus network, mainframe computing, and electronic mail to deliver references retrieved from databases via user profiles
