Abstract

Computer-based multimedia - the integration of text, graphics, audio, video and other typer of information into a a single, seamless whole - is finally a reality, and CD-ROM is clearly the multimedia delivery medium of choice. Software developers creating multimedia titless must now choose which platforms to support. The digital revolution is creating a marriage of computers and consumer electronics, and the progency of that union are various interactive CD-ROM-based digital devices. Multimedia PCs, portable multimedia bookplayers, TV-based CD-ROM players and others are all availbale, targeted at the consumer market
