Abstract

Examines searching full text periodicals online. Describes the number of titles, and types of full text files and discusses currency. Different versions of articles can appear on the different hosts because of rekeying and differing inclusion policies. Describes common selection criteria using Forbes magazine as an example. Details the editorial policies of the main producers. Distinguishes between producers of full text databases and the vendors explaining their roles. When searching its is valuable to remember the characteristics of each vendor and producer in order to understand differences in files
