Abstract
Das World Wide Web, kurz WWW oder W3, integriert wirklich alles in allem. Es legt sich wie ein großer Mantel über die bisher existierenden Informationsquellen und Dienste im Internet. Es lockt - den Zeichen der Zeit folgend - mit Hypertext und Multimedia. Es setzt einen Quasistandard, der im WAN oder LAN einer Firma ebenso nützlich ist wie am heimischen PC. Und nicht zuletzt: die dafür notwendige Software gibt es für etliche Rechnerplatformen gratis, darunter UNIX(e), Windows und den Appel Macintosh
