Abstract

Reflects on the state of the art of blbiographic control of one small part of the distributed national collection, Australia's collections of pre 1800 books, and on the development of the best strategies for providing intellectual access to these books. Considers ways of using the Australian Bibliographic Network in this task and draws attention to 4 of the most significant bibliographic projects mounted worldwide during the past 25 years to list early printed books
