Abstract

Summarizes and analyzes UMI's recently completed CD-ROM market study. More than 1.500 librarians were surveyed, representing academic research libraries, corporate libraries, universities, colleges, junior colleges, and secondary schools, as to the types of electronic products they are using today and their plans for the next 24 months. Reports the changes under way in the industry in terms of CD usage, growth of tape leasing, and increased usage of local-area-networks and wide-area networks
