Abstract
Das Interesse and der Technik der Expertensysteme ist groß. Ähnlich groß sind auch Debatten darüber, ob es sich dabei um eine weitere Modeerscheinung in der Vielzahl rechnergestützter Implementierungstechniken oder um eine tatsächliche qualitativer Verbesserung der Unterstützungsmöglichkeiten durch den Computereinsatz handelt. Dies gilt für fast alle Bereiche, in denen Rechner anwendbar sind, daher also auch für den Bereich des Bibliothekswesens und der Dokumentation. Der folgende Beitrag versucht, in sehr geraffter und damit natürlich auch verkürzter Form die Fragen der Definition und des Aufbaus von Expertensystemen und ihre Nutzung als Zugangs- und Retrievalsysteme zu behandeln. Dabei geht es nicht um eine erschöpfende Behandlung aller hierbei zur Debatte stehenden Themen, sondern um einen Überblick
