    Abstract
    'Internet in Öffentlichen Bibliotheken' lautete der Titel eines Materialienbandes, den das Deutsche Bibliotheksinstitut bereits im letzen Jahr herausgegeben hatte - zu Grundlagen in den Bereichen Markt, Recht, Technik und zur Praxis mit Berichten von Konzepten und Erfahrungen. Daß dieser Band auch in seiner Themenfülle und -vielfalt nicht alles Aspekte dieses komplexen neuen Mediums würde aufgreifen können, und daß auch mit der rasanten Weiterentwicklung des Mediums das Thema damit noch keinesfalls 'abgehakt' sein würde, kristallisierte sich schon zu dem Zeitpunkt seiner Entstehung heraus. Eine Fortsetzung, Vertiefung und Erweiterung also war dringend geboten und wird hier vorgelegt - freilich ohne die Illusion, damit alle Aspekte gar erschöpfend behandeln zu können, wohl aber in der Hoffnung, einige Arbeits- und Orientierungshilfen in den wichtigsten Bereichen zu geben
