    Abstract
    Was ist die Natur mathematischer Objekte? Existieren sie unabhängig vom Gehirn des Menschen, oder sind sie das Produkt der Gehirnaktivität? Kann schließlich echte künstliche Intelligenz aus unbelebter Materie entstehen? Diese und weitere Fragen bis hin zum Bereich der Ethik werden in Dialogform von zwei hervorragenden Fachleuten der Mathematik und der Neurowissenschaften in diesem Buch diskutiert. Die Dialogform der Darstellung soll den Leser zum eigenen Nachdenken über den bis auf Plato zurückgehenden Problemkreis anregen. Dafür relevante Erkenntnisse der modernen mathematischen und neurobiologischen Hirnforschung werden kompetent und allgemeinverständlich dargestellt.

    In seinem Klassiker erläutert der international führende Mathematiker und Physiker, Sir Roger Penrose, seine These, dass die geistigen Fähigkeiten des menschlichen Gehirns nicht durch Berechnungen von Elektronengehirnen erreicht werden können - und provozierte eine neue KI-Debatte. . . . des Kaisers neue Kleider - steht auf dem Buchumschlag. Der renommierte englische Physiker Penrose will damit sichtbar machen, daß die Vertreter der Künstlichen Intelligenz (KI) nackt dastehen. Mit einem 400 Seiten langen Exkurs versucht er, ihre Behauptung zu widerlegen, daß Maschinen ebenso intelligent sein können wie Menschen. bild der wissenschaft Roger Penrose ( . . . ) gelang das Kunststück, mit dem formelgespickten Wälzer "The Emperors's New Mind" (auf deutsch jetzt unter dem geistlosen Titel "Computerdenken" erschienen) auf den US-Bestsellerlisten zu landen, ungeachtet aller Quanten-Ket-Vektoren und Einsteinscher Krüümungstensoren, mit denen der Autor seine Leser plagt. DER SPIEGEL Das erklärte Ziel dieses Buches ist, den Standpunkt einiger KI-Enthusiasten zu widerlegen, daß Computer irgendwann all das können, was menschliche Gehirne können - und sogar mehr. Aber der Leser merkt bald, dass Pnerose vor allem das Ziel verfolgt, einen Wegzur großen Synthese von klassischer Physik, Quantenphysik und Neurowissenschaften aufzuzeigen. John Horgan in Scientific American Wer "Computerdenken" liest (oder durcharbeitet), sollte nicht auf Antwort hoffen, darf aber neue Sichtwiesen und überraschende Interpretationen erwarten. Ein nahrhaftes Geschenk für naturwissenschaftlich Interessierte. Die Zeit Trotz des mathematichen Themas wurde The Emperor's New Mind prompt ein Bestseller und sein Autor zum bestgehaßten Mann der KI-Szene ( . . . ).

    Abstract
    Werden Maschinen mit Begriffen beschrieben, die ursprünglich der Beschreibung des Menschen dienen, so liegt zunächst der Verdacht nahe, dass jene Maschinen spezifischmenschliche Fähigkeiten oder Eigenschaften besitzen. Für körperliche Fähigkeiten, die mechanisch nachgeahmt werden, hat sich in der Alltagssprache eine anthropomorphisierende Sprechweise bereits etabliert. So wird kaum in Frage gestellt, dass bestimmte Maschinen weben, backen, sich bewegen oder arbeiten können. Bei nichtkörperlichen Eigenschaften, etwa kognitiver, sozialer oder moralischer Art sieht dies jedoch anders aus. Dass mittlerweile intelligente und rechnende Maschinen im alltäglichen Sprachgebrauch Eingang gefunden haben, wäre jedoch undenkbar ohne den langjährigen Diskurs über Künstliche Intelligenz, welcher insbesondere die zweite Hälfte des vergangenen Jahrhunderts geprägt hat. In jüngster Zeit ist es der Autonomiebegriff, welcher zunehmend Verwendung zur Beschreibung neuer Technologien findet, wie etwa "autonome mobile Roboter" oder "autonome Systeme". Dem Begriff nach rekurriert die "Autonomie" jener Technologien auf eine bestimmte Art technologischen Fortschritts, die von der Fähigkeit zur Selbstgesetzgebung herrührt. Dies wirft aus philosophischer Sicht jedoch die Frage auf, wie die Selbstgesetzgebung in diesem Fall definiert ist, zumal sich der Autonomiebegriff in der Philosophie auf die politische oder moralische Selbstgesetzgebung von Menschen oder Menschengruppen beziehungsweise ihre Handlungen bezieht. Im Handbuch Robotik hingegen führt der Autor geradezu beiläufig die Bezeichnung "autonom" ein, indem er prognostiziert, dass "[.] autonome Roboter in Zukunft sogar einen Großteil der Altenbetreuung übernehmen werden."

    Abstract
    IMAGINARY verfügt über eine große Spannbreite und eine Vielzahl an Ressourcen im Bereich der Mathematik- und Wissenschaftskommunikation. In diesem Artikel werden Formate zum Thema Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) für Zielgruppen mit unterschiedlichem Vor- und Fachwissen vorgestellt. Zwei grundlegende Themen, die eine wichtige Rolle im Maschinellen Lernen bilden, stehen dabei im Vordergrund: Neuronale Netze und Reinforcement Learning. IMAGINARY vermittelt diese beiden Schwerpunkte auf vielfältige Weise. Dieser Beitrag stellt einige der verwendeten Formate vor: Von interaktiven Exponaten in der Ausstellung "I AM A.I." zu "Explorables" in digitalen Programmen, über Online-Kurse auf Lernplattformen bis hin zu Workshops für Schüler*innen oder Mathematiklehrkräfte.
