Abstract

Despite glare and flicker, the computer's ability to search and skip through awesome amounts of data means that the screen is rapidly becoming the preferred interface for certain kinds of information. There is therefore much interest ind esign to overcome some of its limitations. Discusses factors which impact designing for the computer screen: such as legibility and readability and habit and usage. While objective factors can readily by accomodated in screnn design, the cultural factors are most challenged by the computer screen. Considers aspects of information design for on screnn display
