Abstract

"Dieses Buch nimmt als Ausgangpunkt einen modernen, sich inrascher Entwicklung befindlichen zweig der Physik, nämlich das Studium der spontanen Entstehung von Strukturen. Es stellt aber diese Entwicklung in einen weit größeren Rahmen, indem es Bezüge zur Bewußtseinsbildung, zur Wahrnehmung und zur Kunst herstellt. Caglioti gelingt es hier in meisterhafter Weise, ganz neue Bezüge aufzustellen, und überrascht uns fast auf jeder Seite mit neuen Perspektiven. Beispiele für derartige Strukturbildungen in Systemen, durch die ständig ein Energiestrom fließt, sind die Lichtquelle Laser oder von unten erhitzte Flüssigkeiten. Caglioti führt den Leser in leicht verständlicher Weise an grundlegende Begriffe dieses Neuen Gebietes heran. Das Buch wendet sich nicht nur an den Physiker, sondern auch an den wissenschaftlich interssierten Laien. Auch für den Fachmann bietet Caglioti immer neue Einblicke und zeigt, wie die scheinbaren Antipoden Kunst und Wissenschaft in beeindruckender Weise miteinander verknüpft werden können." (H. Haken)
