Abstract

The complexity explosion has led to ever-increasing difficulties in subject specification, especially in the use of notations in classified arrangement. Two recent developments, the use of DC18 and PRECIS in the BNB, form a substantial contribution towards the solution of these difficulties, particularly in view of the increased pressure for standardization arising from the use of computers
