Abstract
In der Multimedia-Industrie herrscht weitgehende Kklarheit darüber, wie die technologische Zukunft in diesem Bereich aussehen soll - weniger klar sind die wirtschaftlichen Prognosen. Die hängen nämlich von denen ab, die die neuen Multimedia-Produkte und -dienstleistungen kaufen sollen und noch weitgehend im Unklaren darüber sind, was auf sie zukommt. Genau das hat das Institut für Zukunftsstudien und Technologiebewertung in Berlin im Auftrag des Büros für Technikfolgen-Abschätzung beim Deutschen Bundestag analysiert und eine Studie vorgelegt zum Thema 'Multimedia im Privathaushalt; Grundlagen, Chancen und Herausforderungen'. Darin enthalten ist ein Zukunftszenario, das im folgenden leicht gekürzt dokumentiert wird. Wir möchten damit Anstoß geben zu einer Diskussion darüber, wie eine multimediale Zukunft aussehen soll
