Abstract

"Die große Bedeutung der Information verlangt nach einer sichtbaren Gestaltung - einem Ort, als Orientierungshilfe und Wegweiser, um in der Informationsflut nachfragen und sich speziell informieren zu können. Dieser Ort kann nicht im privaten Wohnbereich isoliert Raum finden. Das Kaufhaus für Informationen bietet eine Anlaufstelle, eine architektonische Schnittstelle in der Stadt, für die neue, immaterielle Konsumware: Information; eine Schnittstelle zwischen realer und virtueller Welt, zwischen Informationsanbietern und Informationskonsumenten. Hier gewinnt die Flut von Informationen eine Selektion durch das besondere Interesse der Kunden. Über die Technik bereitgestellt, ist ein Pool des Wissens verfügbar und der sichere Zugriff auf jede Information möglich. Der Kunde gelangt durch die Beratung von Servicepersonal an die Information, die gemeinsam entschlüsselt und bewertet wird"
