Abstract
Discusses how control of the grey literature in high energy physics preprints developed through a collaborative effort of librarians and physicists describes a model of a rapidly evolving virtual library for high energy physics information at the Library of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC). Focuses on the rapid increase in the number of users accessing the Stanford Public Information Retrieval Systems-High Energy Physics (SPIRES-HEP) database following introduction of WWW online access to the SLAC Postscript Preprint Server. Concludes by extending this physics model to other areas of grey literature management
