Abstract

Examines OCLC products to which the Internet provides access. Version 4.0 of FirstSearch, OCLC' end user reference service provides access to 55, soon 100 databases. The product allows users to request documents either as hard copy from suppliers or increasingly in ASCII full text form. OCLC's electronic journals programme sets out to provide not only the full text of articles but of the journals themselves. The NetFirst database, available on FirstSearch from end 96, is an effort to index and organise resources on the Internet and will bring authoritative and reliable abstracting and indexing to the present mass of unclassified materials
