Abstract

"Da sich das Quantum an Wissen ganz allgemein ziemlich schnell vergroessert, kann man als Einzelner nur einen winzigen, immer kleiner werdenden Bruchteil, das eben, was für einen persönlich am relevantesten ist, im Gedächtnis behalten. Für alle anderen Bereiche gilt mehr den je: 'Wissen' heißt 'Wissen, wo's steht'. Dabei kann man einerseits ziemlich sicher sein, daß fast alles Wissen schon einmal schriftlich niedergelegt, katalogisiert und auf verschiedendste Weise eingeordnet und ausgewertet wurde. Andererseits ist die Suche oft ziemlich mühsam. Wer ein mehrbändiges Lexikon sein eigen nennt und dort fröhlich von einem zum anderen Band und zurück verwiesen wird, weiß, was ich meine - vom mühseligen Blättern ganz zu schweigen
