Abstract: Mit der Ausweitung des Internet treten vielfältige Rechtsfragen hinsichtlich der Verantwortlichkeit von Online-Providern für den Datenverkehr in Computernetzen auf. Dies bezieht sich vor allem auf die Inhalte von Informationen, die auf Servern bereitgehalten und über die Computernetze zugänglich werden. Die Frage nach der Haftung in solchen Fällen gilt sowohl für den DFN-Verein als auch für seine Mitgliedseinrichtungen. Der DFN-Verein hat zu dieser Fragestellung ein Rechtsgutachten 'Zur Haftung des Vereins zur Förderung eines Deutschen Forschungsnetzes e.V. als Online-Diensteanbieter' in Auftrag gegeben. Dieses Gutachten bezieht auch die Mitgliedseinrichtungen des DFN-Vereins ein. Im folgenden gibt Prof. Hoeren in einer Kuezfassung rechtliche Hinweise, die für die Mitgleidseinrichtungen relevant sind, zur Kenntnis
