Abstract

Describes the development of the Hand Press Book database: a multi file, multinational online union catalogue database of records relatinf to files of computerized records on the subject of the hand press period in Europe (from the beginning of printing to 1830). The aim was to make existing files more widely available and to document printed materials which were currently unrecorded in computerized resources. Details discussions on functionality and design of the database and its development in the Research Libraries Information Network (RLIN) format
