Abstract

The WWW has provided a place for everyone who is able to declare themselves an author to publish their work, thus it cannot be assumed that all information disseminated is true, accurtae, and unbiased. Provides help for librarians and library users in evaluating Internet resources, under 3 categories: the source of the information; the information itself, eg. currency and bias; and the overall appearance and ease of use of the Web site. Gives examples of help with evaluation available on the Internet itself in the form of evaluation sheets and discussions of evaluative criteria, which often include lists of questions users ought to ask about a resource
