Abstract
Im folgende wird eine Methode zur Aufbereitung und Visualisierung von Informationskollektionen vorgestellt, mit der die semantischen Beziehungen zwischen Anfragen und Dokumenten auf leicht erfaßbare Weise dargestellt werden können. sie geht von der Beobachtung aus, daß explorative Suche in Informationskollektionen der Arbeitsweise von Wissenschaftlern und Technikern besonders entspricht und daß aktive Navigation im virtuellen Informationsraum eine sehr wirksame Suchtechnik zur Unterstützung dieses Vorgehens ist. Für die Visualisierung wurden räumliche Informationsdarstellungen benutzt, da sie es den Menschen ermöglichen, ihre angeborenen Wahrnehmungsfähigkeiten vorteilhaft einzusetzen. Erste Beobachtungen zeigen, daß die entwickelte Technik die in sie gesetzten Erwartungen erfüllen kann
