Abstract

Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt das Interpretations-Unterstützungs-System ATLAS/ti (ti=Textinterpretation) vor, das von Psychologen, Informatikern und Linguisten im Rahmen des interdisziplinären Forschungsprojekts ATLAS an der Technischen Universität Berlin entwickelt wird. Ausgangspunkt für die Entwicklung unseres Systems ist die Erfahrung von Sozialwissenschaftlern, in den bei qualitativ orientierten Untersuchungen anfallenden, großen Daten- und Textmengen regelrecht zu ertrinken. ATLAS/ti stellt einen neuartigen Typ von Informationssystem dar, zugeschnitten auf die spezifischen Bedürfnisse von Forschern mit qualitativ-hermeneutischer Ausrichtung. Systematische Auseinandersetzung mit textuellem Material definiert weitere Anwendungsfelder: Akquisition von Expertenwissen aus verbalen Protokollen, vergleichende Literaturanalyse, Kommentierung juristischer Fachtexte, Analyse von Argumentationsstrukturen in Round-Table-Diskussionen
