Abstract

Noch in den 70er und 80er Jahren war Auskunfts- und Informationsdienst auch ein Thema in der Bibliothekstheorie. Als auch konzeptionell gründlich zu beackerndes Feld hat sich dieser Bereich bibliothekarischer Tätigkeit jedoch nie durchsetzen können. Im Gegenteil, das theoretische Interesse erlahmte, und das Positionspapier 'Bibliotheken 93' geht in wesentlichen Punkten hinter den vor 20 Jahren erreichten Stand zurück. Gerade im Bereich Informationsvermittlung haben aber Bibliotheken Trümpfe, die sie ausspielen sollten. Allerdings bedarf es dazu einer durchdachten Konzeption und einer bundesweit tätigen Kooperation
