Abstract

Wuppertal ist immer noch, inzwischen schon fast traditionell und geschichtlich mit bedingt, eine der gewichtigsten Adressen für einen bibliothekarischen Auskunftsdienst, der sich eng am angelsächsischen Vorbild des 'reference service' orientiert. Seit mehreren Jahrzehnten konnte man damit Erfahrungen sammeln, und der Stellenwert des Informationsdienstes ist in dieser Zeit nicht geringer geworden. Im Gegenteil bietet ein guter Service doch beste Voraussetzungen, um mit einer genuin bibliothekarischen Fähigkeit das eigene Image aufzuwerten
