Briefly summarizes the initiatives of the European Commission in the area of libraries and describes in detail the work programme covering the period 1995 to 1998. Reports on 3 action lines: network oriented internal library systems; telematic systems for library cooperation and networking; and library services for access to networked information resources and their results and achievements
