Abstract
Digitale Bibliotheken unterstützen heute Forschungsaktivitäten in verschiedensten Fachbereichen. Auch die Geisteswissenschaften profitieren dabei von der rasanten technologischen Entwicklung. Im Projekt VD17 werden alle Drucke des 17. Jahrhunderts aus dem damaligen deutschen Sprachraum kooperativ erfaßt. Katalogdaten und gescannte Schlüsselseiten der historischen Werke sind über das WWW recherchier- und abrufbar. Schnelle Bildübertragung über das Breitband-Wissenschaftsnetz B-WiN garantiert hohe Interaktivität
