Abstract

The University of Melbourne Library Map Section is the largest map collection in Australia. It also has a long history of providing digital mapping applications to library users, starting with the provision of digital census data and mapping using the Supermap program in 1985. Examines the experience of the Map Section from 1986 to the present in providing digital map data to users, the current situation, and the future plans to provide enhanced digital mapping services to Map Section users
