Abstract

Describes the project, undertaken by Southern Mississippi University as an OCLC Major Microforms Project, to catalogue the individual records in the Slavery Pamphlets Collection. The collection consists of 2.348 titles, held as micro opaques, concerning slavery or published by religious societies publishing antislavery propaganda. The originals are housed at Oberlin College Library. Outlines the 3 step procedure used to catalogue the records at the target rate of 100 records per month over the 2 year OCLC contract period. In practice the cataloguing rate was 90 records per month and the project averran by 2 months
