Abstract
Tüftler, Unternehmen und andere Interessenten können sich künftig per Internet über die Fülle von Erfindungen hierzulande informieren. Bundesjustizministerin Herta Däubler-Gmelin (SPD) hat gestern den kostenlosen Service Depatisnet (www.depatisnet.de) des Deutschen Patentamtes auf der Hannover-Messe gestartet. Das Online-Archiv bietet Zugriff auf rund 25 Millionen Dokumente. Jährlich kommen nach Angaben von Behörden-Präsident Hans-Georg Landfermann etwa eine Millionen hinzu. Gespeichert sind alle deutschen Tüfteleien seit dem Jahre 1877. Der elektronische Zugriff wurde teils auch aus der Not heraus geboren. Denn das Interesse an den Patenten sei enorm, erklärt das Amt. Der Ansturm auf die Informationsplätze in München und Berlin sei derart groß gewesen, dass Abhilfe geschaffen werden musste. Um welche Fülle von Daten es sich dabei handelt, verdeutlicht Projektleiter Wolfgang Albertshofer: Auf Papier füllten die Dokumente 3300 Stahlschränke oder sieben Kilometer Regal und beanspruchten eine Fläche von rund 5000 Quadratmeter. Die Datenbank komme dagegen mit 250 Quadratmeter aus. Zunächst bleibt das Theorie, denn laut Landfermann dauert es noch etwa zwei Jahre, bis die Prüfer sich ganz vom Papier trennen wollen - ein psychologisches, aber verständliches Phänomen. Die Umstellung des Archivs wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit der Bundesdruckerei und der Firma Compaq realisiert. Die Kosten inklusive Online-Zugriff betrugen 124 Millionen Mark. Die Bundesregierung will das Patentamt zügig von einer Behörde zu einem innovativen Dienstleister für Erfinder umgestalten. Depatis sei dabei ein wichtiger Schritt, betont die Justizministerin. Außerdem werde das Personal in dem Amt aufgestockt - innerhalb von drei Jahren um 124 auf mehr als 2400 Beschäftigte. Däubler-Gmelin kritisiert in diesem Zusammenhang die Industrie: Man kann nicht alles haben - ein funktionierendes und modernes Patentamt und gleichzeitig die Patenprüfer dort abwerben."
