Abstract
Einen besonderen Stellenwert beim Informationsaufbau, nimmt der potentielle Nutzer der Information ein. Inwieweit das Angebot auf seine Bedürfnisse und Kenntnisse zugeschnitten ist, entscheidet letztendlich über den eigentlichen Nutzwert der bereitgestellten Informationen. Demnach ist es unerläßlich bereits in der Planungsphase des Informationsangebots die zu erreichende Zielgruppe zu spezifizieren und im Hinblick auf diese Zielgruppe das Angebot zu realisieren. Bietet man nun im Internet Informationen an, stellt sich die Frage welche Personengruppe als Zielgruppe überhaupt in Frage kommt, d.h. welche Personen augenblicklich das Internet nutzen und wie sich die soziodemographische Zusammensetzung der Internetteilnehmer in naher Zukunft entwickeln wird. Ist ein Informationsangebot realisiert, gilt es dieses Angebot zu optimieren und an die Benutzer weiter anzupassen. Das Internet bietet hierzu zahlreiche Möglichkeiten der elektronischen Datenerhebung an, die eine fortlaufende Beobachtung (Monitoring) der Nutzergruppe und deren Nutzungsstile ermöglicht. Der vorliegende Beitrag wird sich mit diesen beiden Fragen (jetzige und zukünftige soziodemographische Zusammensetzung der Internetler und Verfahrensweise beim Monitoring eines Angebotes im Internet) auseinandersetzen.
