Abstract

Was haben Tod, Unfall, Paparazzi, Trauer und Elton John gemeinsam ? Alle diese Wörter wurden im Zusammenhang mit dem Tod von Prinzessin Diana zentral aufgegriffen. "Im Zeitalter der Informationsgesellschaft" ist eine Kontextanalyse, bei der die in den verschiedenen Medien genannten Themen analysiert werden, von großem Interesse. Nur auf diesem Wege kann die Informationsflut besser unter Kontrolle gebracht und somit das Hauptaugenmerk auf das Wesentliche gelegt werden. Anhand einer computergestützten Inhaltsanalyse des Informationsflusses von drei Teletext-Sendern wird aufgezeigt, dass die Entwicklung der elektronischen Datenverarbeitung in großen Schritten weitergekommen ist. Bei dieser Studie wurden während 104 Tagen (Zeitraum Juni-September 1997) rund 36.2000 Teletext-Seiten bestimmter Bereiche der Sender SF1, ARD/ZDF und 3SAT kontinuierlich elektronisch erfasst, gespeichert und zeitgleich auswertetet. Themenschwerpunkte sind Politik, Wirtschaft und Finanzen sowie Sport. Anhand verschiedener Beispiele werden die markanten Differenzen zwischen den drei Sendern in bezug auf Seitenbereiche, Themenbereiche, Sprachlichkeit und Inhalt besprochen. Themen wie z.B. der Tod von Prinzessin Diana, die EU-Währungsunion, die Nato-Ost-Erweiterung, der Versace-Mord, der Boxmatch zwischen Mike Tyson und Evander Holyfield ("Ohrbiss") werden näher unter die Lupe genommen. Anschließend werden die Vorzüge der qualitativen und quantitativen computergestützten Inhaltsanalyse erläutert. Diese wird durch die Datenerfassung und -verarbeitung mittels geeigneter Software ermöglicht. Die neue IT-Technologien haben auch vor der wissenschaftlichen Inhaltsanalyse nicht halt gemacht
