Abstract

Auf der Grundlage einer eigens entworfenen Dokumenttypdefinition für Dissertationen (DiML) wurden an der Humboldt-Universität Technologien und Konzepte entwickelt, um SGML/XML als Archivformat für elektronische Dissertationen innerhalb der Universitätsbibliothek zu integrieren. Ein Austausch mit Universitäten, die gleichartige Konzepte entwickeln, zeigt, daß die Probleme bei der Durchsetzung vor allem im Aufwand der Strukturierung bzw. Nachbearbeitung durch die Autoren bzw. die Bibliothek zu sehen sind. Daher wird versucht, durch die an die Bedürfnisse der Autoren angepaßte Benutzerschnittstellen die Arbeit für diese zu vereinfachen, um das in den Dissertationen enthaltene Wissen durch die Universitätsbibliotheken für ihre Leser nutzbar zu machen
