Abstract

Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die häufig als Schwesterdisziplinen bezeichneten Fachbereiche Wirtschaftsinformatik im deutschen Sprachraum und Information Systems im anglo-amerikanischen Sprachraum im Hinblick auf den Hauptforschungsgegenstand "Betriebliche Informationssysteme" untersucht. Anhand der durchgeführten Vergleichsanalysen zeigt sich, dass Management-orientierte Forschungsfragen in den Information Systems einen höheren Stellenwert als in der Wirtschaftsinformatik haben. Es gibt aber Anzeichen eines wachsenden Interesses an diesbezüglichen Forschungsthemen seitens der Wirtschaftsinformatik. Die vergleichsweise stärkere Technologie-Orientierung der Wirtschaftsinformatik geht einher mit einem starken Praxisbezug und einer eher geringen Allgemeingültigkeit der Forschungsergebnisse. Die verhaltenswissenschaftlich geprägten Information Systems zeigen einen schwächeren Praxisbezug und zeichnen sich eher durch eine theoretische Fundierung und etablierte Forschungsmodelle, wie beispielsweise Technologie-Akzeptanzmodelle, aus.
