Abstract

Immer stärker spüren Wissenschaftler, Bibliothekare und Verleger den Einfluss der neuen Technologien, des Internets sowie des globalen Wettbewerbs auf die traditionellen Informations- und Publikationskanäle. Dieses Buch stellt die Resultate einer umfassenden, internationalen und interdisziplinären Delphi-Studie dar, die sich mit den zukünftigen Veränderungen im wissenschaftlichen Zeitschriftenwesen befasst. Die Studie befasst sich ausführlich mit der zukünftigen Rolle bzw. Funktion der Zeitschrift, der Zeitschrift der Zukunft, der Problematik der Zeitschriftenkrise, der langfristigen Verfügbarkeit elektronischer Zeitschriften sowie neuen Kosten- und Bezugsmodellen. Die Untersuchungsergebnisse sind nicht nur als Planungsinstrument für Bibliothekare gedacht. Sämtliche Mitspieler der Informationskette werden durch diese Veränderungen stark betroffen sein, so dass das Buch auch für Verleger und Wissenschaftler von großem Interesse ist.
