Der Physiker David Bohm war nicht nur ein berühmetr Naturwissenschaftler, sondern auch ein Philosoph im ursprünglichen Sinne. Er gab dem Gespräch, dem Dialog seine Tiefe zurück, die ihm im Zeitalter der Kommunikation und Diskussion abhanden gekommen ist. Besorechung, Meeting, Gesprächsrunde nennt man heute Versammlungen, in denen Standpunkte vorgestellt, Argumente ausgetauscht, Positionen verteidigt, Gedanken ausgeführt und Theorien angerissen werden. Der Zweck solcher Gespräche ist es, den Status quo der Differenz zu klären, sich auf Ziele zu einigen und Unstimmigkeiten auszuräumen. David Bohm hat die Erfahrung gemacht, dass all dies gut gemeint ist, aber nicht ausreicht, um einen Schritt nach vorne zu kommen. Statt der Diskussion fordert er den Dialog, verstanden nicht als ein Gespräch miteinander, sondern als ein Horizonte öffnendes Aufeinanderzugehen. Ein Dialog ist ein grundsätzlich gelungenes, die Teilnehmer mit neuen Erfahrungen und Erkenntnisses belohnendes Gespräch
