Abstract

Seit der Gründung des HeBIS-Konsortiums (http://www.hebis.de/hebis-konsortium/) und seiner Institutionalisierung sowie der Bereitstellung von zentralen Erwerbungsmitteln durch das Land Hessen wurde für die hessischen Hochschul- und Fachhochschulbibliotheken eine beträchtliche Anzahl von Zeitschriftenpaketen und Datenbanken erworben. Die ebenfalls dem Hessischen BibliothekslnformationsSystem (HeBIS) angeschlossene UB Mainz profitiert in ähnlicher Weise von Aktivitäten in Rheinland-Pfalz. So erfreulich die zunehmende konsortiale Erwerbung von Online-Ressourcen mit Volltextzugriff auch ist - sie stellte die HeBIS-Bibliotheken vor folgende Probleme, für die dringend Lösungen eingefordert wurden: (1) Wer erstellt die Titelaufnahme? Innerhalb des HeBIS-Konsortiums wurden mittlerweile ca. 3500 Zeitschriften mit Volltextzugriff, ca. 400 Zeitschriften mit Zugriff auf Abstracts und Inhaltsverzeichnisse und ca. 100 Datenbanken erworben. Um den Arbeitsaufwand für die an den Konsortialverträgen beteiligten Bibliotheken möglichst gering zu halten, wurde eine zentrale Titelerfassung für die Verbunddatenbank sowie für die überregionale Zeitschriftendatenbank gefordert. Diese erfolgt nach Meldung neuer Verträge durch das HeBIS-Konsortium in der HeBIS-Verbundzentrale, die diese Aufgabe neu übernommen hat, ohne dafür jedoch zusätzliche Personalressourcen zu erhalten. (2) Wer erfasst die Lokaldaten? HeBIS betreibt eine Pica-basierte Verbunddatenbank. Im Pica-System werden die lokalen Bibliotheks-OPACs durch einen speziellen Mechanismus aus der zentralen Datenbank heraus automatisch beliefert. Ausgelöst wird dieser Mechanismus durch die Erstellung eines Lokaldatensatzes an einem Titeldatensatz. Jede Bibliothek muss ihre Lokaldaten normalerweise individuell erfassen, was einen hohen personellen Aufwand bedeutet.
