Abstract

Schwerpunkte dieses anwendungsbezogenen Lehrbuchs sind der Entwurf und die Abfrage von Datenbanken in Anwendersprachen. Der erste Teil behandelt am Beispiel typioscher Datenstrukturen und Algorithmen die Verwaltung unverbundener Dateien. Der zweite Teil führt in den Entwurf von Datenbanken ein. Abfragen in QBE, SQL und XBase-ähnlichen Befehlssprachen veranschaulichen deklarative und prozedurale Abfragesprachen. Im Anschluß daran verdeutlicht ein Fallbeispiel in MS Access die Anwendungsentwicklung in prozeduralen Datenbanksprachen der 4. Generation. Der vierte Teil diskutiert Client/Server und verteilte Datenbanksysteme. Im letzten Teil wird auf objektorientierte Datenbanksysteme eingegangen
