Abstract

Die aktuelle Debatte um die Zukunft der Katalogisierungsregeln verlangt den Protagonisten und "sonstigen beteiligten Personen" einiges ab: neben dem bibliothekarischen Sachverstand sind schon visionäre Vorstellungskraft, Sinn für politisches Taktieren sowie außerordentliche Fähigkeiten in der Textauslegung gefordert. Einem, der da nicht mehr mithalten kann, sei dennoch ein sachdienlich gemeinter Hinweis auf ein eher alltägliches Detailproblem der Katalogisierung erlaubt: die einigermaßen regelwerkgerechte Katalogisierung der unselbständig erschienenen Werke. Gerade für wissenschaftliche Spezialbibliotheken, die sehr intensiv auch die bibliographisch unselbständige Literatur erschließen, ist es besonders wichtig, dass die neuen/revidierten Katalogisierungsregeln die unselbständigen Werke angemessen ("gleichwertig") berücksichtigen. Das künftige Regelwerk, wie es dann auch heißen mag, muss die katalogisierungstechnischen Möglichkeiten der "Sonderregeln für unselbständig erschienene Werke" integrieren. Das ist zwar nur eine Kleinigkeit, sollte aber auch bei der Bewertung der konkurrierenden Konzepte (AACR oder RAK2) durchaus beachtet werden. Dabei wird es sich als vorteilhaft erweisen, wenn ein Regelwerk nach einem Bauplan konstruiert ist, der die erforderliche Emanzipation der bibliographisch unselbständigen Werke nicht nur prinzipiell ermöglicht, sondern ausdrücklich vorsieht. Da das logisch-strukturelle Konzept vor allem in den Definitionen der Grundbegriffe zum Ausdruck kommt, wird schon hier erkennbar, ob die Logik des Regelwerks auf selbständige und unselbständige Werke gleichermaßen ausgerichtet ist. Und wenn mit präzise und klar formulierten Grundparagraphen ein passendes Fundament gelegt ist, können die (nur wenigen) speziell für unselbständige Werke notwendigen Einzelregeln leicht in das Gesamtregelwerk eingefügt werden.
