Abstract

Im August 2001 fiel der Startschuss für eine grundlegende Neukonzipierung des bisherigen Schulungsangebotes für unsere Benutzerinnen und Benutzer. Ein Grund lag in der rückläufigen Teilnehmerstatistik der angebotenen Kurse. Der Bedarf an einem Angebot zur Nutzung unserer Kataloge und Datenbanken schien noch zu bestehen, aber die gezielte Ansprache der Klientel funktionierte nicht mehr. Zeitnah mit unseren Überlegungen für ein überarbeitetes Schulungsangebot erschienen die Empfehlungen des Wissenschaftsrates und die Ergebnisse der Nutzerstudie der Sozialforschungsstelle Dortmund, die deutlich machten, "dass die Informationskompetenz der Studierenden zur Nutzung elektronischer wissenschaftlicher Informationen unzureichend" ist. Dies bekräftigte uns in unserem Vorhaben. Unterstützt durch die Aussage Informationskompetenz entscheidet über den Studienerfolg begann eine Arbeitsgruppe mit der Planung und stellte das bisherige produktorientierte Kurs- und Führungsangebot auf ein zielgruppenorientiertes Angebot um. Aus den bisherigen Schulungsangeboten wurde ein ansprechendes Konzept für die jeweiligen Zielgruppen erarbeitet.
