Abstract

Die letzten Jahre sind durch eine Reihe von Trends beim Aufbau von allgemeinen Informationssystemen gekennzeichnet, die wesentliche Bestandteile der akademischen Umwelt - Bibliothekswesen, Publikationswesen, Archivwesen - in entscheidenden Punkten verändern. Dadurch entsteht, trotz einiger Gefahren, insgesamt eine Situation, die der Etablierung großflächiger historisch-kulturwissenschaftlicher Informationssysteme ungewöhnlich günstig ist. Dadurch haben die Anforderungen an die Komplexität derartiger Systeme aber einen Grad erreicht, der die Professionalisierung ihrer Realisierung verlangt. Ernstgemeinte Interdisziplinarität zwischen Geschichtswissenschaft und Informatik ist dazu nötig.
