Abstract
Die Standard- und Premium-Version des neuen Brockhaus multimedial 2002 erscheinen mit integriertem Weltatlas und optimiertem Wissensnetz. Beide gibt es als CD-ROM und DVD. Auch Versionen 3.0 werden angeboten. München (nja) - Der neue Weltatlas in beiden Versionen ist frei zoombar und bietet drei Perspektiven: Eine Satelliten-, eine topographische und eine politische Ansicht. In die Premium-Version auf sechs CD-ROMs ist als Besonderheit das "Brockhaus-Konversationslexikon" von 1906 integriert worden. Anwender haben hier Zugriff auf den kompletten Text- und Bildbestand des Lexikons. Die so genannte "Power-Websuche" generiert aus den Lexikonartikeln optimierte Anfragen für Suchmaschinen und durchsucht das Internet gezielt nach thematisch verwandten Informationen. Daneben stehen Tausende geprüfte und kommentierte Webseiten in einer jeweiligen Kontextspalte zur Verfügung. Neu in beiden Versionen ist auch der persönliche Bereich mit einer Sammelmappen-Funktion zum Aufbau eines individuellen Informationspools. Außerdem stehen in der Premium-Version 250 Sequenzen aus den ARD-Nachrichten-Sendungen zur Verfügung. Weitere Neuheiten sind unter anderem 110 "Aktivfotos", mit denen sich Tier- und Pflanzenbilder oder ganze Habitate erforschen lassen. Dazu kommen 82 Panoramen, die eine 360-Grad-Ansicht bieten. 28 dieser Panoramen finden sich in acht virtuellen Stadtrundgängen. - Alle Versionen sind auch zu Windows XP kompatibel. Standard-Version: 100 Mark, Update 60 Mark Premium-Ausgabe: 180 Mark, Update 100 Mark CHIP Online meint: Was nur soll denn das "Brockhaus-Konversationslexikon" von 1906? - Es wird nun immer schwieriger, nein: unmöglich zu sagen, ob nun Brockhaus oder Encarta besser ist. Differenzen hier oder da bleiben unerheblich.
