Abstract

Was ich Ihnen hier anbiete, ist keine Präsentation eines lokalen inhaltlichen Konzepts. Es ist auch kein Erfahrungsbericht darüber, wie jemand ein solches Konzept lokal- betriebsintern realisiert hat. Vielmehr: Es geht um Verhandlungen auch und vor allem ausserhalb der Bibliothek, von der ich komme, um Korrespondenz, um Stellungnahmen und Papiere schlechthin. Es geht um verantwortliches Gestalten. Andere nennen es: Managen. Was ich hier anbiete, ist : Ich zeichne für Sie in Worten ein Bild - das Abbild einer in der Realität recht komplexen Abfolge von Interaktionen. Es ging - und es geht immer noch - darum, ein im Wesentlichen neues Tätigkeitsfeld in Hochschulbibliotheken überzeugend zu installieren. "Überzeugend" aktiv zu werden heisst hier: Nicht etwa die eigene Bibliothek ist zu überzeugen. Sondern: Es sind die Verantwortlichen für Studium und Lehre zu überzeugen. Nämlich davon, dass es sinnvoll und vorteilhaft ist, wenn ihre Hochschulbibliothek ihr Dienstleistungsspektrum in diese Richtung markant ausweitet.
