Abstract

Schnell, sicher und relevant soll Wissen heute sein. Das Internet als Medium bietet hervorragende Möglichkeiten einer zeitnahen Verbreitung von Informationen. In den letzten fünf Jahren sind so genannte Wissensmanagementsysteme entstanden, die unterschiedliche Systemarchitekturen favorisieren (vgl. Klosa 2001). Viele Softwareanbieter versprechen mit ihren Programmen einen systematischen Zugang zur Ressource "Wissen". Hinter der großen unübersichtlichen Anzahl von Systemen verbirgt sich eine hohe Unsicherheit, was Wissensmanagement eigentlich genau ist. Das Label "Wissensmanagement" ist keineswegs einheitlich definiert: für einige ist es ein neues "kommunikatives Paradigma" (Kuhlen 2002), für andere ein willkommenes Hilfsmittel zur Optimierung der Geschäftsprozesse oder ein umfassendes "Organisations- und Transportsystem" für das organisationale Gedächtnis eines Unternehmens (vgl. Lehner 2001). In der Implementierung von Wissensmanagementsystemen von Unternehmen dominiert dagegen ein pragmatischer Zuschnitt: Wissensmanagement soll kein Mühlstein für einen akademisch-philosophischen Diskurs sein (Was ist Wissen? Was kann Wissen? etc.). Konsequenterweise fokussieren viele Unternehmen einzelne Unternehmensbereiche und behandeln eher einzelne "Wissensbereiche". Projekte, die breitflächig Wissensmanagement im Unternehmen oder umfassende Bausteine zum Wissensmanagement einsetzen, werden zumindest von kleineren und mittleren Unternehmen selten eingeführt.
