Abstract
Im Rahmen des Berichtes aus der Arbeit der Arbeitsstelle für Standardisierung (AfS) hat Die Deutsche Bibliothek ihr aktualisiertes Konzept »Standardisierungsarbeit für Bibliotheken« vorgestellt. Neu hinzugekommen ist eine Prioritätensetzung für den Fall, dass sich die Globalziele Wirtschaftlichkeit und Internationalität nicht harmonisieren lassen. Aus Sicht Der Deutschen Bibliothek sollte im Konfliktfall der Interoperabilität, der Austauschbarkeit, der Vermischbarkeit von Daten verschiedener Herkunft die höchste Priorität eingeräumt werden. Das Konzept ist auf der Homepage zu finden." Weiterhin wurde über die Vorarbeiten im Zusammenhang mit dem First IFLA Meeting of Experts an an International Cataloguing Code berichtet, das vom 28. bis 30. Juli 2003 unmittelbar im Vorfeld der IFLA-Tagung in der Deutschen Bibliothek Frankfurt am Main stattfand. Informationen zu dieser Konferenz finden Sie unter der angegebenen Adresse. Der Standardisierungsausschuss hat beschlossen, zwei Vertreter der Ständigen Konferenz der Kultusminister der Länder in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (KMK) als Mitglieder aufzunehmen. Es handelt sich hierbei um die Vorsitzenden WB und ÖB der AG Bibliotheken. Der Standardisierungsausschuss hat ebenfalls beschlossen, den Paragrafen 1 seiner Geschäftsordnung zu ändern. Er lautet nun: § 1 Aufgaben (1) Der Standardisierungsausschuss ist das überregionale Koordinierungsgremium für die genannten bibliothekarischen Bereiche der Standardisierung und hat folgende Aufgaben und Zuständigkeiten: - Behandlung von Grundsatzfragen der bibliothekarischen Standardisierungsarbeit - Erstellung von Richtlinien für die Arbeit der Teilbereiche gemäß § 6 - Kontrolle der Arbeitsergebnisse. (2) Zur Erfüllung seiner Aufgaben erarbeitet der Standardisierungsausschuss als fachliches Beschlussorgan Richtlinien und gibt sie als Empfehlungen an die jeweils verantwortlichen Organe und Einrichtungen, deren Umsetzung diesen obliegt.
