Abstract

Die gesamte Suchmaschinenszene wurde im Frühjahr 2003 komplett umgekrempelt. Spektakuläre Aufkäufe bestimmten das Geschehen und verdeutlichten einen dramatischen Konzentrationsprozess. Die internationale Pluralität der Suchmaschinen wurde abgelöst durch eine Handvoll amerikanischer Netzwerke, die sich gegenseitig Technologielieferanten und Kooperationspartner vor der Nase wegkaufen und den Kampf um die Marktanteile sowohl in USA als auch hierzulande aufgenommen haben.
