Abstract
Im Besitz der Universitätsbibliothek Heidelberg befinden sich unter den berühmten Handschriften der Bibliotheca Palatina 27 spätmittelalterliche Bilderhandschriften aus drei der bekanntesten deutschen Schreibwerkstätten des 15. Jahrhunderts. Im Rahmen eines zweijährigen DFG-Projektes wurden - in Kooperation mit dem Kunsthistorischen Institut der Universität Heidelberg - diese Manuskripte vollständig digitalisiert, erschlossen und im Internet kostenlos unter http://Palatina-digital.uni-hd.de bereitgestellt. Die Digitalisierung der insgesamt ca. 15.250 Manuskriptseiten realisierte die Abteilung Sondersammlungen der Universitätsbibliothek Graz. Die Beschreibung der Handschriften und die inhaltliche Erschließung der über 2000 Illustrationen wurde mit Hilfe des Datenbankprogramms HiDA3 und des ikonogrophischen Klassifizierungssystems ICONCLASS vorgenommen. Digitalisate und Erschließungsdaten sind sowohl über ein eigens hierfür entwickeltes Webpräsentationsmodell auf den WWW-Seiten der UB Heidelberg verfügbar, als auch über die Handschriftendatenbank "Manuskripta Mediaevalia" abrufbar.
