Abstract

Wenn man im Rahmen einer 45-minütigen Unterrichtsstunde für Schüler der gymnasialen Oberstufe, also der 10. bis 12. Klassen, zum Thema "Die Recherche im Online-Katalog" die Funktionsweise der Booleschen Operatoren AND, OR und NOT erklären soll, verbleibt dafür nur ein kleiner Zeitanteil innerhalb der Unterrichtsstunde. Wenn man im Rahmen der kommunikationswissenschaftlichen Propädeutik eine 2-stündige Lehrveranstaltung für die Studienanfänger zum Thema "Die kommunikationswissenschaftliche Recherche in Katalogen und Datenbanken - Grundlagen sowie allgemeine und Fachinformationsmittel" durchführen soll, wird auf die Erläuterung der Funktionsweise der Booleschen Operatoren ebenso nur ein kleiner Zeitanteil der gesamten Veranstaltungszeit entfallen. Die Dauer der Veranstaltungen von 45 Minuten bzw. 2 Stunden ist jeweils von außen - durch den Kunden - erbeten/vorgegeben worden. Die Frage ist nun die: Wie kann man neben zahlreichen anderen Inhalten die Funktionsweise der Booleschen Operatoren den Lernenden in den genannten Veranstaltungen in einem kurzen Zeitintervall vermitteln, und zwar so vermitteln, dass die Veranstaltungsteilnehmer wissen, welche Funktion diese Operatoren besitzen? Die Pädagogik hat sich schon immer (u. a.) damit beschäftigt, wie man am schnellsten, besten, nachhaltigsten, leichtesten einen Lehr- bzw. Lerninhalt an die Lernenden vermitteln kann. Da es jedoch nicht die absolute Methode gibt und auch die Superlative "am schnellsten, besten, nachhaltigsten, leichtesten" relativ sind, wird man als Pädagoge auf der Suche und damit auf dem Weg bleiben. Ich möchte hier meine methodischen Varianten vorstellen, mit denen ich die Funktionsweise der Booleschen Operatoren zu vermitteln suche.
