Abstract
Wie alle Lebewesen braucht der Mensch Kommunikation, Signale, Impulse aus seiner Umgebung. Dadurch gewinnt er Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen von unterschiedlichster Bedeutung für sein Leben. Seine physiologischen Fähigkeiten, Informationen aufzunehmen und anzunehmen sind wenig erforscht und nur unvollständig bekannt. DerMensch versucht seit eh und je mit technischen Mitteln die Kenntnis über die akustischen, optischen und mechanischen Signale, die auf ihn zukommen, zu vertiefen. Die von ihm gebildeten sozialen Systeme gründen auf den Austausch von Informationen. Doch Innovationen auf diesem Gebiet sind wenig begleitet von Kenntnissen darüber, ob sie tatsächlich geeignet sind, das menschliche Leben oder die Lebensverhältnisse zu verbessern. Hier wird der Versuch gemacht, erkennbare Grenzen der menschlichen Fähigkeit zur Informationsverarbeitung zu zeigen.
