Abstract
Der Zugang zur juristischen Datenbank der europäischen Institutionen CELEX (Communitatis Europeae LEX) steht gemäß einer Entschließung des Europäischen Parlaments vom 19. Dezember 2002 ab 1. Juli 2004 kostenlos zur Verfügung. Dieser zweite Teil des Beitrags (Teil 1: Geschichte) gibt einen Überblick über die Struktur und den Inhalt von CELEX sowie die wesentlichen Instrumente zur Inhaltserschließung. Die Zahlenverhältnisse der Dokumenttypen pro Sektor erlauben ein besseres Verständnis der Gewichtung, einige Beispiele veranschaulichen die mitunter abstrakte Materie. Der dritte und letzte Teil der Reihe wird das wahrscheinlich ab Ende 2004 verfügbare neue System beschreiben.
