Abstract

Mit der Unterzeichnung der »Berliner Erklärung über den offenen Zugang zu wissenschaftlichem Wissen« im Oktober 2003 auch durch die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) war zu überlegen, ob und in welcher Weise die DFG die Bemühungen um Open Access stärker aktiv befördern solle. Jetzt hat sich die DfG mit einer Umfrage ein Bild davon verschafft, welche Faktoren das Publikations- und Rezeptionsverhalten der unterschiedlichen Disziplinen maßgeblich bestimmen und welcher Stellenwert entgeltfrei zugänglichen Onlinepublikationen bei den verschiedenen Fachdisziplinen und in deren Veröffentlichungsusancen zukommt. Die Umfrage zeigt eine noch geringe Nutzung der verschiedenen Formen des Open Access für die eigene Publikationstätigkeit und zugleich eine große Zustimmung der Befragten aller Wissenschaftsbereiche zu einer stärkeren Förderung von Open Access durch die DFG.
